It was reported this week that Manchester United and Liverpool were both keen to sign Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos but that has since been dismissed.

Manchester United and Liverpool will not be signing Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos this summer, it has been claimed. It was widely reported this week that both Premier League clubs were keen to acquire the 34-year-old.

But the Athletic have quashed the claims by insisting ‘there is no chance’ Ramos will be heading to either club this summer, despite potentially being available on a free

Ramos is out of contract this year but despite Spanish reports to the contrary, neither club are interested in signing the Real captain and the Athletic expects the Spain international to sign a new deal at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Whether Ramos would have even been welcomed at Liverpool is a topic for debate.

In the 2018 Champions League final Mo Salah left the field in tears with just over half an hour played after Ramos dragged him to the ground and caused a serious shoulder injury.
